Vision and Mission The objectives and activities of Chengal Gram Panchayat are mainly based on the following areas: Vision The general objective of a Panchayat is to achieve comprehensive and sustainable development by ensuring better living conditions for all citizens. People's Governance: To ensure people's participation through transparent and efficient governance. Model Village: To transform the Panchayat into a model village that is environmentally friendly and socially just. Poverty-free Society: To completely eradicate poverty and ensure a stable income for all families. Mission The main missions undertaken by the Panchayat to realize the above vision are: Infrastructure Development: To provide basic facilities like roads, drinking water, electricity, sanitation etc. to all. Agriculture Conservation: To make wastelands cultivable and ensure food security by giving emphasis to the agricultural sector. (Chengal Gram Panchayat is a major agricultural sector). Health and Education: Foster good public health centres and educational institutions. Poverty Alleviation: Create employment opportunities and uplift the Below Poverty Line (BPL) families. (Old reports indicate that the majority of the population in Chenkal Panchayat is below the poverty line, so this mission may be of importance.) Women Empowerment: Increase the participation of women in social, economic and cultural spheres. Decentralization: Ensure full participation of citizens in administrative matters through Gram Sabhas.
